LUD of Birch River and Pine River

Garbage Day is every Wednesday.

If regular day of opening falls on a statutory holiday, the transfer site is to be open on the following day.

Please note: As per By-Law No. 05/18, residential household garbage is limited to two free bags per week. Any extra will require a tag which you may purchase from the Municipal Office or your waste disposal attendant. No garbage will be collected unless it is in a container.

Waste Disposal Attendants will be enforcing the 2 bag weekly limit, your cooperation is appreciated.

Birch River Lagoon Tipping Fees

As per Public Utilities Board Order No. 98/13, the Rural Municipality of Mountain will charge a Tipping Fee for dumping at the Birch River Lagoon site. All contractors wishing to dump at the Lagoon must complete and submit the Municipal Lagoon Access Agreement to the Municipal Office for Council approval prior to dumping. Fees are as follows:

$15.00 to a maximum of 1,500 gallons (single axle truck)

$30.00 to a maximum of 3,000 gallons (tandem axle truck)

Recycling

We encourage all residents of the Rural Municipality of Mountain to make full use of our recycling programs. We currently operate recycling depots in the LUD of Birch River, LUD of Pine River, LUD of Mafeking and Community of Cowan at our Waste Disposal Sites.

For any residents who do not receive curbside recycling pickup, and are wanting to recycle, the Municipality has acquired large recycling collection bags to help you collect recyclables.

Please ask at the Municipal Office or your local landfill attendant for your free bag.
