Community spirit is alive and well within Mafeking which is home to approximately 130 residents.
Community events include an Ice Fishing Derby, Canada Day Celebrations and Slo Pitch Tournament as well as the occasional coffee house.
Mafeking is located among some of the most breathtaking scenery along the Porcupine Mountains. One of the most scenic, the Rice Creek area, can be accessed by quad or snowmobile.
St. Margaret’s Anglican Church was built by local volunteers in 1940. The church was closed in 2002 and the building now serves as a community museum featuring handmade pews and other articles of church and community history.
