Repairs Underway
Our municipality is still currently working on repairs to infrastructure and roads that were damaged by the heavy rains in June. We appreciate your patience as we work to restore all infrastructure to pre-flood conditions.
Limited Red Cross Kits are available to those affected by the floods. Contact the Municipal office.
Water testing kits for private well water testing are also available at the Municipal Office.

As we continue to work to repair damaged infrastructure, please be mindful of construction equipment, road closed signs and other municipal signage.
Important Safety Reminder
Rely on confirmed information from the RM of Mountain, the Province of Manitoba, emergency services, Manitoba 511 and other recognized public agencies. Conditions can change quickly during an emergency.

Make a Household Plan
Discuss where your family will meet, how you will communicate, who may need assistance and where you could stay if you must leave home.
Build an Emergency Kit
Keep drinking water, food, medications, flashlights, batteries, warm clothing, important documents and supplies for pets available.
Know Your Risks
Consider flooding, severe weather, wildfire, extended power outages, road closures, water interruptions and winter travel hazards.
Stay Informed
Follow official notices, keep a battery-powered radio available and monitor weather, road conditions and municipal updates.

If an evacuation is ordered, follow instructions issued by the RM of Mountain and emergency personnel. Information about evacuation routes, reception centres, registration, transportation assistance and re-entry will be posted here when required.

Financial Assistance & Recovery Programs
Disaster Financial Assistance
When an eligible Disaster Financial Assistance program is announced, information about eligibility, deadlines, required documents, application procedures and available municipal assistance will be posted in this section.
Important: A State of Local Emergency does not automatically mean that financial assistance is available. Program eligibility and application requirements are determined by the Province of Manitoba.

The current deadline to apply for assistance for the 2026 June Heavy Rains event is September 9, 2026.

The RM Office may be able to assist residents with municipal roll numbers, tax information, printed application forms and general application guidance when an assistance program is active.

Document Damage
Take photographs, keep receipts, record dates and maintain a list of damaged property before beginning cleanup, where it is safe to do so.
Contact Your Insurer
Residents and property owners should contact their insurance provider as soon as possible to report damage and confirm available coverage.
Do Not Enter Unsafe Areas
Do not enter flooded, fire-damaged, structurally compromised or contaminated areas until authorities confirm that it is safe.

How do I report a road hazard or municipal concern?
Contact the RM Office during regular office hours. For an immediate threat to life, safety or property, call 911.
When should I call 911?
Call 911 when there is an immediate danger to life, a serious injury, fire, crime in progress or another situation requiring urgent police, fire or ambulance response.
Always call 911 over your local authority phone number.
Can the RM confirm whether my property qualifies for financial assistance?
The RM can provide information and direct residents to available programs, but final eligibility decisions are made by the organization administering the assistance program.
