Although the population of Pine River is only 100, the area is home to business owners, ranchers, grain farmers, loggers, saw mills, outfitters, eco tour operators, trappers, and a buffalo ranch of 3,000 to 5,000 head.
The Pine River Memorial Park, established in 2013, is dedicated to the Pioneers who founded Pine River.
The park currently features flower beds, old farming implements picnic tables, fire pits and space for trailer / rv camping.
